i. ranting under the inFLUenz
I was happy this evening (around 8-ish) because my fever finally broke. I was even able to take a much needed shower (sweaty person with flu + blankets and jammies = stinky person). But now, I feel sort of fuzzy again so I took my temperature again, and sure enough, it's back.
Aaaargh! I have deadlines to meet! I hate the fact that I caught the flu when I need to be up and about with my wits around me. Why couldn't I have had it earlier this week when I had the time to spare. Aaargh.
I have three suspects:
1. My mom who's had her flu on and off since Sunday
2. A work colleague who was coming down with the flu when we were together yesterday
3. A client who's dealing with the tail end of her coughs and colds.
ii. x2
The funny thing was, suspect #1 kept me company the whole day, even cooking oatmeal for breakfast since I was arguably the sicker person (I mean physically, not mentally, although that might arguably be true also). But despite that, I miss my mom of old, who'd care for me when I was sick as a kid. You know, the kind who'd wipe me down with cold compresses and give me nice sick person food. Hell, I had to fix my own lunch today. Ah to be an adult. T_T
iii. i miss tv
We don't have a tv in the bedroom anymore, so being sick has lost all of its fun. I mean, it's GDed boring. I was leafing through back issues of Reader's Digests. I didn't want to gamble with reading my books since the first reader's digest I read ended up all crumply when I fell asleep midway. Sigh.
iv. omedetou jambitz and gins!
They finally set a date, for december next year. When Jamie first SMSed me, I was quite shocked. She didn't write the year, only the possible dates, so I immediately concluded that it was for this year. Only to be followed by another SMS saying that it was for next year.
Anyway...not that they'll be reading this, but:
CONGRATULATIONS JAMS & GIN-GINS!
iv. wish me luck!
So it's off to the kitchen for me to grab a tylenol, and make an attempt to write. While I would prefer to get back to bed, a deadline is a deadline, I guess. Besides, hearing about jams & gins cheered me up, so I'm on an artificial energy boost. Now let's see if I can update
kitchencow as well. :D (Illness is not an excuse. FOOD MUST BE PHOTOGRAPHED, Nyahahahahahaha!)
